I LOVE me some Trader Joes. I especially love their frozen pizzas. Please don’t be turned off by “frozen pizza”. It’s not that microwavable doughy crust you nuke on that weird foil circle red baron 3 for $0.99 shit. It’s actually quite delicious.
You could pretty much cut off your finger and throw it on this pizza and it would be delicious. Add whatever you’re craving! Pizza Margherita is like a deliciously awesome semi-blank canvas.
This is one of my favorite TJ pizza hacks.
Crispy Potato Pizza Margherita
1 Trader Joe’s Pizza Margherita
5-6 Baby Yukon Gold Potatoes
Trader Joe’s South African Smoke Seasoning, or your favorite seasoning mix
Olive oil / bacon grease
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Slice potatoes thinly. Fry in olive oil and/or bacon grease (yes, I said AND) until crispy. Season with South African Smoke seasoning (or seasoning of your choice). Set aside.
Bake pizza according to directions on box – 425 degrees for 10 minutes.
Top with crispy potatoes and scallions.
I usually bake 2-3 minutes longer than suggested because I like my crust super crispaaaay.
